WELCOME TO VISITORS

The Carlisle Friends Meeting (Quaker) offers a worship community based on many of the leadings inspired by Quaker founders in England over 350 years ago. Without a paid clergy, we worship in silent waiting, trusting that our spoken ministry may be divinely inspired. Many of us profess our faith as Christians, but we welcome all seekers who wish to enrich their spiritual development. We cherish the life of the mind as well as the spirit. Friends value a witness for peace, simplicity in life and worship, and a concern for the least fortunate among us. For both children and adults, our educational program includes study of the Bible, the history and writings of Friends, and present-day concerns, such as stewardship of the environment.
